The Electric Farm (2005)
Some music rewards exponentially with each listen. The new release is that kind of record. The songs represent a broader reaching range of sounds than past albums...and for the first time features strings (expertly arranged by co-producer Mike Frank). From the Brazilian infused "The Day" and simple "Lilybell's Lullaby" to the extended rock hypnotic "Unspoken Love" (recently showcased on the new CBS crime drama NUMB3RS), and "Fallen Star," a classic pop tune in the styling of early Kinks or Lovin' Spoonful, every track creates the collage of this lush and atmospheric world. It takes you to a place of mystery, beauty, darkness wrapped within simple melodies that stick with you. More mellow than previous albums, this CD represents a folksy, spacey, rock, pop compilation some say reminds them of Beck's "Sea Changes" or Nick Drake.

Joey's footnote: Some of my favorite music like Nick Drake, The Kinks "Village Green Preservation Society" and the Velvet Underground didn't sell many records at first, but the music stood the test of time. That's the kind of record I always want to make—music that will last. Whether it catches on or not—it might take awhile—but if it's good, it will last. That's what we tried to do here—make a really good record. One that when I listen to it years later, I'll still like it—maybe even more. Hope you will too.

    Boomschlang Viper Story (1997)
A diverse pop album that includes the song "Shabby Girl"—featured on the television show ONE TREE HILL (Season One, Episode #9...as documented on www.onetreehillweb.net, it's "the scene where Lucas is talking to Haley outside the school, and he tells her he made out with Brooke."...which I'm sure made Haley feel "shabby") and in the movie DRIVE ME CRAZY starring Melissa Joan Hart (Twentieth Century Fox). There's also this song "Mary" about a girl who has to be taken to the hospital from the grocery store because she went into a weird state while staring at the sauce in the jar. But it's not all drama. There are fun-loving tracks like the crowd-pleaser "Go Go Boots" and the space dancing instrumental "Sundress" written by past keyboardist Phil Ferlino. And listen, there's one other thing you should know. Okay, we thought it was hysterical at the time...but other than that, there really isn't a good reason why we included the hidden Penna Dutch concept album banter in between tracks to tell the story of the Boomschlang Viper. But as you'll discover, it did inspire our nifty comic book cover. At the end, wait for the hidden track of The Farm's "Into the Sky" as performed by friend Jim Boggia (go to www.jimboggia.com for more info on this Bluhammock Records' recording artist).

    Six (1995)
Many a pop music fan was turned onto The Electric Farm with this gem of an EP, which was dubbed "a pop gem" by the press—coincidence...I think not! This six-track (hence the name) features smart pop tunes with hooks like fishin' folks use. Features Farm classics like "Julie Shop Around" and "Why Would You Want Him"...the live standard "Into the Sky" (also covered by our friend Jim Boggia on a hidden track on Boomschlang Viper Story)...and power pop a la Big Star, Badfinger, The Kinks on "Grown Up Kid." This original release is definitely a Farm must-have.
