New CD Release: THE ELECTRIC FARM
NOW available at CDBABY
Digital Downloads available at Napster, Apple iTunes, AOL's MusicNet, and other music sites

The Electric Farm's eagerly anticipated third album is now available and gathering encouraging words from both fans and industry folks, including more than a few comparisons to Nick Drake (yikes...now that's something).

When making this record, some of my favorites like Nick Drake, The Kinks Village Green Preservation Society, Van Morrison Veedon Fleece and the Velvet Underground were definitely an inspiration—maybe they didn't always sell a lot of records at first, but their music stood the test of time. That's what we tried to do here, make a really good record. One that when you listen to it years later, you still like—maybe even more.

The result—The Electric Farm took soft pop and put it into a folksy space rock situation. The songs reflect a broader spectrum of sounds than past albums, including string arrangements (by co-producer Mike Frank) that contribute to a lush, moody atmosphere reminiscent of Beck's Sea Changes.

You can go to CDBABY to sample all tracks (and buy the album). Digital downloads are also being picked up by most major music sites like Napster, Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, BuyMusic, Emusic, LoudEye and others. We hope you will agree with those who experienced The Electric Farm as a "well-crafted"..."nice retro-pop feel"..."kind of Nick Drakeish"..."really good" record. Spearfish Indie Film Premiere
Fresh off the new album, the song "Wild River" ended up being one of the "stars" of Spearfish—a grassroots indie film about high school skateboard rebels and the subtle, yet poignant dramas of a small town in South Dakota. First-time filmmaker Douglas Beck declared, "the power of (the) song is a major factor in the movie's ability to pack an emotional punch." It was cool to be there for the film's premiere, which was front-page news in the small town of Canton, PA where the film was shot. The Electric Farm performed for the cast and others at the post-premiere party where the kids got into the music and made more than a couple requests to hear Wild River.
